    Hello.
We have a project that was shot and edited with 720p dvcprohd. When I add broll from a film shoot that is 1080i to the timeline, everthing becomes sluggish and sticks. Sometimes the in=points are changed on the 1080 shots when I render the green bar. Do I need to convert the footage all to the same format before editing. or throw away preferences? or what?
    thanks

Is your system fast enough to play mixed formats on the same timeline?

Is this a case where repackaging and cutting in ProRes would be beneficial? Sorry if this is a dumb question – still trying to wrap my head around all the possibilities of ProRes.

    Thanks guys,
I used compressor and turned the 1080 footage into 720p like the majority of the of the time line. then I just matched the timecodes and all is sweet.
