Sluggish Time Line
Posted by Patrick Morrow on February 2, 2006 at 1:51 pmI have a G5 in my classroom and every time it reaches a transistion or a new clip it holds the last clip as a still . It is very sluggish and sticks all the time. Please help!!!

February 2, 2006 at 8:59 pmMaybe you have the (i dont know what its called) “snap” property of the scrubber on. To turn it off, click one of those little green buttons in the top right of the timeline

1. What is the view set to in the timeline? (thumbs, filmstrip, waveform on)
2. What is your RT set to?
3. Where is your media captured to?More info please. this is not an easy post to answer. If you want help take the tim eto be a bit more clear about your question.

The view is set to thumbnail
Rt is set to unlimited
Media is captured to the system drive.

I would set RT to safe, this may mean you have to render the effect but I bet that is why it is stalling.
How much ram in this G5?
Try to avaid capturing to yor system drive. Anexternal firewire drive is a much better idea.
