I made a huge mistake in my camera, now I have to fix it…

I thought that if I shot 1080i-60i on my camera, all i had to do was slow it down to 24fps and everything would be fine… it’s not…

SOOO… what’s the best way to slow my 60i footage down to 24p? (It is going to a 720 24P timeline, if that helps me any)

I Have AE CS5, Magic Bullet Instant HD (If that helps)…

Let me know if any other plugins might help, but if there’s a way without, please let me know!!

    Thanks All!

I think, you can use this article as an advice.

    https://www.biscardicreative.com/blog/2011/09/1080i-60-is-not-60fps-repeat-after-me/

“(But if you are feeling frisky, you actually can edit true 60i footage in a 60-frame timeline, you just need to artificially interpolate the remaining field so that each field’s missing half is filled in to become a full frame. Premiere Pro does this beautifully, by the way.”

I would do so if were you.

Also, try Twixtor, this plug requires some conditions to be met, but works great.

    And about converting to 24p:
are you thinking about exporting the vid to sequence, and gathering afterwards in a new fps?

    Yes, this will work.

    Thanks Andrey,

I am aware of what that article is saying… I was just an idiot trying to think quickly on my feet, and ended up shooting myself in the foot, haha…

You mentioned that Premiere can do the interpolation of the frames? How do I do that?

…and then if I get Premiere to do that, and I have my 60fps sequence, would I then just nest that 60fps sequence in a 24fps sequence? Or are you saying I need to export the 60fps as a separate video and then bring that back into Premiere (or After Effects) and then slow it down?

    Thanks sooo much!!

That’s what I was trying to get to…. how do I get 60p from 60i? Is what Andrey saying true, that Premiere (or even After Effects) can Interpolate the 60i footage into 60p?
