slowing camera down along spline path
Posted by Jack Sewell on September 28, 2010 at 10:47 amhi all,
I have set up a spline path, with a camera traveling along it.
My question is how to slow the camera down along any given point along the path. i,e not to speed up or slow down the whole journey from point A to B, but speed up and down at any given interval along the way. Many thanks,

September 28, 2010 at 11:41 amKeyframe your start and stop position for the animation. Then keyframe your slowdown and speed up points. Then go into the timeline and smooth out the curves til the animation feels right.
Key points:
– The curve should always be moving up (or down), never up then down or your camera will move back and forth.
– Make sure the keyframe points are always smooth interpolation or your camera will stop and jerk.
– Make the slowdown time have a small slope.
– Tighten the curves around the slowdown time.Cory

September 28, 2010 at 7:51 pmMy suggestion would be to keyframe the start and end of the camera animation and then use a time track to control the pace.

September 28, 2010 at 10:42 pmSee implementation of my suggestion. They are just keyframes you add. I’m sure Adam’s suggestion is more experienced.

November 16, 2010 at 4:46 amRight click on camera and select f-curves. They’re like bezier curves to control object animation speed. You can also select the animation viewport and select f-curves as well. Hope this helped.
