    Hi,
Since upgrading from Vegas 10c to 10d, I seem to frequently get slowed response times. In particular, when I hit the spacebar to preview from the timeline, the video preview starts immediately and runs smoothly, as does the audio, but the timeline cursor remains stuck at the starting point, sometimes for 5 or 10 seconds, sometimes as much as a minute, until it suddenly jumps and catches up with the preview. If I hit the spacebar a second time while it is running (and the cursor is still stuck) the preview will continue and does not stop until the cursor does decide to catch up. Any idea if I might have some setting wrong? (This never happened to me with 10c; running core i7 with windows 7.) Thanks for any advice!

I haven’t experienced this. I did do a clean re-install of Vegas Pro 10d so I uninstalled 10c and then re-installed 10s. Not sure if that has anything to do with it but I’m not seeing and slow response.

I just decided to give 10d a try, thinking you know fourth time is a charm….

    Any way, your solution:

Update to the newest Directx 10: there is an updtae that came out last month… Should fix your problem.

Thanks for the suggestions. I did now do a clean re-install of 10d, and that seems to have helped somewhat, though the problem has not disappeared entirely. As far as DirectX, I am running Windows 7, which tells me it has DirectX 11, and I don’t find any recent updates to that. Thanks!

Yea, I found the same thing… downloaded anyway… saw that the date on the directX was just a month old… that fixed a few issues… but I agree 10d is not for me.
