Slow rendering time, too much for my computer?
Hi,
I’m new to video editing and have a Macbook Pro:
2.4 GHz Intel Core i7
8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB
OS X 10.9.2When I tried rendering an 8-second video clip in Premiere Pro that had a small effect added in After Effects, it took 35 minutes. Is there something I can change to shorten this or does my computer not have enough capacity to handle it?
Also, once I went back to Premiere from AE, the clip was very choppy before I rendered it, is that normal?

Is it a dual core or quad core? iIf it’s a quad core, you may be running out of memory. It all depends on the effects, but 16GB would be the bare minimum on a quad core, especially when dealing with Dynamic link. Any type of motion blur, feathering, or any type of blur will slow things down considerably.
