    Hi Folks,
Sorry for the long post here, but I know that y’all can’t give me any advice unless you know all the details. So here’s the situation:

I’m using FCP 7.0.3. I produce short educational media pieces and do a lot of subtitling. I’ve been shooting with a GH2 and loving it, and always edit the AVCHD footage using ProResLT. The problem is every time I add a new subtitle (on the same video track) I need to render it. Here are my system details:

Running Snow Leopard 10.6.8. I use a lot of After Effects and just joined Adobe’s Cloud Program…thinking about slowly migrating to using Premiere Pro.

    My questions:
1- how can I avoid these constant renders? Do I need a new graphics card? Heard lots of good things about the Quadro 4000. Thoughts?

2 – the Maxx Digital RAID is only using the FireWire 800 connection now. At the time I purchased the RAID, the e-SATA card was not working with my system. Would solving that issue and using the e-SATA connection solve my speed issues?

Thanks in advance for your time – and Happy New Year!

My first guess is that your sequence settings and import settings don’t agree. It happens. Compare them side by side using “get info”.
Happy New Year, hope that fixes it.
