    Hi,
When rendering an old movie in 4:3 (about 1:45mins in length)the rendering is about 6 hours….. is this normal?
Here are the settings i’m using:

    Template: PAL DV (720 x 576 aspect ratio, 25fps)
    pixel ratio: 1.0926(PAL DV)
    pixel format: 8-bit
    Full-resolution rendering quality: Good

    The rendering settings are:

MainConcept MPEG-2 – DVD Architect PAL video Stream
    25fps, 720 x 576 lowerfield first, YUV, 6 mbps, pixel aspect ration: 1093.

    My PC specs are:
    CPU – Intel COre i5 3570k 3.40ghz
    RAM: 8GB
    64 bit
2TB hard drive (with plenty of space).

    Sony Vegas Pro 11 64bit

    Any help appreciated.

    thank you

    Martin

    is this normal?

    Probably.

There are a thousand (OK, just a few dozen) reasons that a render can be slow. But any F/X can make rendering slow because the render engine has to composite the F/X on each affected frame. Some F/X, such as colorizing or opacity effect every pixel on every frame and will take considerably longer to render than a video with cuts only.

Thanks Guys, That was the issue, I was hoping to clean it up a bit but just a couple of effects like reducing noise caused the rendering to increase massively. I fI had the time it would be no probs.

    Thanks again.
