I’ve recently started playing around with motion and I really like it, but once I send my project back to FCP and render the video it just takes ages!
This is a DVpal project I sent from FCP to which I added some text layers, a moving picture and some particles (magic dust). The frame count inside motion is quite low, but rendering in FCP is hell, it takes 30 mins for a few seconds of material to render.
Is it my graphics card (7300GT 256MB) or am I doing something wrong here?

Welcome to Apple’s World. It’s overhyped as heck.

Rendering Motion projects from within FCP puts an entire new layer of processing and parsing on top of Motion’s already glacial system.

If you don’t need any transparency inside of FCP, you can simply render straight out of Motion, or export from Motion via Compressor. Rendering straight from Motion seems to be the fastest. Perhaps because it’s using the GPU? (Perhaps I’m just dreaming about that?)
