  Slow Render & Export Times

  Hi,

  I recently switched from FCP to CS5.5 (MAC) and I have noticed much slower render and exporting times. My sequence settings are matched to my footage (ProRes 422, 1080p, 25fps PAL) and I have tried exporting using ‘match sequence settings’ with ‘use previews’ on as well as off but every time it takes 3 or 4 times as long as my sequence to export (5 minutes will take 20, 30 will take 120 etc).

  I’ve read other threads on here with similar problems although the most recent was over a year ago so I was wondering if other people still find this to be an issue. I’m using a 3.0GHz quad core with 5GB of RAM so it shouldn’t be so slow (especially when the same project on the same machine in FCP 7 is much quicker).

  Any settings advice or anything else would be much appreciated.
