    Hi Folks,

Just getting into the P2 thing and I am wondering about transfer speeds from the cards to an external FW drive. It seems to be taking me 100 seconds per 1GB and after doing a little research it is apparent that that this is very slow. I am using P2CMS to transfer the files from the AG-HPG10 reader via a 400/800 fw connection. The reader is linked directly to the drive and I am running the software off a brand new Macbook Pro. Can anyone please let me know why this is so slow and what faster solutions exist? I have read about the Duel Adapter but they are not compatible with Snow Leopard. Is there anything else or an update for the Duel Adapter?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    Chris

If you are using the FW 400, it will be slow. USB will be even slower. FW 800 is faster.

Average offload times for FW 800 is about 30 seconds to 1 minute per GB.

Also depends on which P2 cards you have. Original P2 cards are 800mb/s transfer while the new E series are 1.2 Gbps transfer.
