Hello! New to the site so I’m sorry if this has been done to death, but I can’t seem to find the exact answer Im looking for.

Im shooting with a 7d. Took video at 60fps and set my shutter to 120. Brought the footage into fcp and conformed it in Cinema tools to 30p (and 24p for that matter).

My question is this. The rest of my film is shot in full HD 1920X1080, and my timeline in fcp matches this. When I bring the newly “slowed” down version of the clip into fcp, it’s at 150% of its original size (probably becuase 60p only shoots at 720HD).

It really makes my image look awful with it all stretched out like this. Is there anyway to fix this? I’ve seen dozens of videos on the internet that seemlessly shoot full HD on the 7d while adding slow motion and none of them seem to look “stretched” or distorted.

Any advice would be a HUGE help!

    Thanks!

    Hi Colling,
    The 7D makes p60 at 1280×720.
That footage on a 1920×1080 sequence will be upscaled (x 1.5) but shouldn´t look stretched or distorted in anyway.
Have a look to the Browser and make sure that the footage pixels are squared.
