I have a 24fps clip that I want to make slower. When I use the FCP % option under the motion tab it creates sort of a ghosting effect. Does anyone know how to make it slower using Cinema Tools from within FCP? Or do I have to just use Cinema? I’ve tried searching for a self help video but they all start with a 60fps clip.

    TIA

Cinema Tools only does smooth slow motion when you shoot say 60fps and want to convert that to 24fps…for use in a 24fps project. If your project is 24fps, and you need to slow down 24fps footage…it’s going to look jumpy. No way to “conform” that.

Your best bet is to use Twixtor.

If you don’t have AE or a desire to purchase Twixtor I would recommend using Motion. It has an Optical Flow algorithm that does an amazing job at slowing footage down.
