Slow motion stuttering despite usual checks – No clue why!
Hi, I’ve got a project due soon, and I’ve got an issue. I’ve got some 50fps footage which I want to slow to 0.500 speed for slow motion 25fps playback. My project is set to 25fps. I’ve been to properties, disabled resample, set to 0.500 playback rate. Haven’t changed the undersample rate. The footage is 50fps for sure and it says so in properties. Same format and camera settings I’ve always used. But it’s playing back choppy as if it’s only 25fps footage even when I render it out. What could be the cause and solution?
I’m using Sony Movie Studio 13. If anyone knows what the issue is please answer quick, it’s due tomorrow and I’d rather not have to tell the client I have to delay it!

Is the footage 50p or 50i? It sounds like it might be 50i. Use a tool like MediaInfo and post the text properties here so we can see what you are working with. You might also want to post your project property just so people can see.

The weirdest part is, I didn’t change my camera settings all day, and footage I took earlier in the day works fine in slow motion. It’s not interlaced. I’m using a GH4 and there is no interlaced option. Always 50p or 25p.

Yea that does look like progressive 50p. If your project is 25p, and you set your playback to .500 it should just playback smoothly at 1/2 speed. I’m not sure it would stutter.
