I have been using Vegas since release 2.0 and have never really taken the time to truly understand the slow motion in Vegas. I use it sparingly and usually a video clip with background music. What I can’t seem to do is that I want to make the “First Dance” in a wedding video in slow motion and still have the video in sync with the music. Is this possible?

Only if you also slow down the music.

What Ed is telling you is that you need to Control+Drag the edge of the clip instead of applying a velocity envelope, since velocity envelopes do not slow down audio. You should probably also not try to preserve the original pitch of the audio as it tends to sound really bad after being slowed down too much.

Thanks for the info. from the both of you. Just how would I adjust the pitch to sound right? Also, I have noticed that if I use the velocity envelope that the end of my video gets cut off. My solution to this has been to extend my clip to allow for the slow motion. Is this the correct way or am I missing something?

    That’s the correct way.
