  • Slow motion for a 24fps footage

During the weddings, we normally shoot at 24fps and for active sessions like dance or speedy rituals, we use 60fps.

But there are some scenes, which were shot in 24fps and now we need to slow it down a bit.

Whats the best process to do it ?

Frame blend check and then speed down to 80% in right click of footage in PP CC ?

The quick method is applying the Speed/Duration effect to an entire clip, or Motion keyframes to a portion of a clip. Alternatively, After Effects can be used to interpolate new frames; this method takes longer but produces better results.

Regarding the setting, 80% might be too quick; the footage will look slowed but not like slow motion. Fifty percent is probably the cleanest solution in terms of both appearance and technical implementation (presuming you are exporting at 24fps).

Okay, but Im afraid how a 24fps video will look at 50%, that will be too jerky, I guess.

Try a few different speeds on a short test clip to see what yields the best results. Do you have access to After Effects?

Yes, I have bought After Effects CC, so have the access.

After Effects can generate new frames based on the existing footage. Take a look at Time Warp and Frame Blending with pixel motion.
