Slow Motion
Hi!
I have 1280 x 720 50p source footage. My final output-format will be 1280 x 720 25p. My goal is to slow the footage down. Now, I know that I could beautifully slow it down to 50% by putting it in a 25p timeline and time-stretching it to twice its length. But how do I slow it down to something around 80%? If I use time-stretch, the result is jerky. I guess that is because at that speed the 50p can not be mapped as evenly to 25p as at 50% speed (where the mapping is 1 to 1). If I use the timewarp effect, it seems to treat the footage as 25p and appearantly ignores the extra frame information.
Any tips as to how I can get the best slow motion out of this 50p footage?

Have you tried setting frame blending to pixel motion?

I don’t think that time-stretch has that option. Timewarp does, but it seems to treat the footage as 25p (same as the composition) and does not use the extra frames of the 50p footage. This basically nullifies the advantage of shooting 50p (which was done specifically to achieve better slow-motion).

It does. Read the article I linked to; you must enabled frame blending on best quality for the footage item in the timeline, and you must enable frame blending for the composition, too.
