    Hello all

has anyone else come across this problem or am I simply missing some obvious step… When I mark a clip with an in and out point in the source window and set the slow motion to something other than 100 percent, in this case 90% and drop the clip in the timeline the actual clip that ends up in the timeline is no where near what I had marked as an in and out point. anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Make sure that you only have an IN point chosen in the timeline and not an OUT point. This way it will only put in what you marked in the viewer.

Unfortunately this really doesn’t work if you’re replacing an already existing shot. I find the slomo workflow in FCP a particularly clunky implimentation when compared to most other NLE’s. However Joseph, the workaround is to do a quick calculation of the source in & outs for the motion effect you need, and then do a fit to fill, which is in real time.
