  • Slow FCP Startup – Caused by plugins?

    HI all,

Running FCP 7 on 10.6.4 – Mac Pro 8 Core.

Lately FCP has been taking a LONG time to load – not only does it seem to take a while to run through all the plugins/filters – it stops loading and hangs for a while on Boris’s BCC Layer Deformer – and after some time it resumes loading.

    Is this normal?

Is there a way to speed up the FCP launch cycle?

I’ve trashed my prefs, deleted the thumbnail caches and repaired permissions.

    Thanks,

    Wayne

This is very normal. Plugins slow the startup.

Why not try removing the plugins and seeing how well FCP opens.
