It’s great that there is a place you can go when you realize you’re clueless about something…

I shot some 24 p footage in Ireland with Sony HVR V1U (recorded in HDV @ 29.97 using 3:2 pulldown). I want to slow a pan of Dublin shot from the Guinness Gravity Bar (might be the reason it’s a bit fuzzy)… Anyhow because of the pulldown I’m not getting a clean slomo image. Is there a way within FCP I can get rid of the pulldown? Will I have to recapture @24? Can I convert with compressor?

    Thanks for the assistance.

No matter what NLE you’re using, doing processing (FX) on footage always works best in the native resolution. Since you shot 29.97 it will work best to put the slo-mo on that footage and then do the pulldown again on the newly created clip.
