  • Slip or Slide tool in Multiclip?

Posted by Thomas on August 2, 2007 at 10:45 pm

Is there anyway to use the slip or slide tool if your multiclips aren’t completely in sync?
I know you can do this once the multiclip is in the timeline but what about just sliding the one clip in the viewer window to make the clip in sync after it’s been multiclipped?

The sliding function seem to work in the viewer but it affects all the clips instead of the selected clip.

Is this possible or Final Cut 6 doesn’t have this option yet?

In the Viewer hold Control-Shift and drag the clip. Is that not working for you?

    All the best,

Control-Shift is a function that slides all of the clips together within the multiclip.
I’m trying to just slide one video within the multiclip.

I’m assuming you can’t do this with Final cut 6

It’s broken. That’s why I asked if it worked for you. It seems to work weirdly, intermittently, not as it’s supposed to, and not as it did in the previous version.

Do you mean ‘broken’ as it’s a bug?

    That’s what it looks like.

It does seem to be a bug. It works in some timelines but not others. Don’t know why. It really was a problem in my last multi-clip job. The workaround, of course, is to sync perfectly in the bin.
