  • Slip events by a number of frames

    Hi!
I need to slip multiple events. Is there a way to slip them using something that would allow me to enter a number of frames? Is hard to use those previews which are confusing and don’t really understand how to slip frame by frame and I need to count a lot of them.

    With thanks,
    Ellen

The best way – find (or write) a script which can do it.
If this is a one-time task, you can use Vegasaur toolkit, free trial version (Quick Properties module > Events > Take Offset).

    1. Don’t know if I’ll ever be able to just think of making a script 😀
    2. That worked! thank you very much!

You probably know this already, but another way to easily slip events without a script is to first, select the events to be slipped. Then enter the num-1 key to move one frame left or num-3 to move one frame right.

This is called “sliding” while “slipping” is shifting the contents of an event w/o moving the event.

Thanks for pointing that out. It seems that I learn something new here almost every day. So, slipping would be akin to using Vegasaur and taking a specific offset under Events in its Quick Properties, which I do quite frequently. Just didn’t know I was technically “slipping”.
