    Hey guys,

Stupid question but I need to ask it.

I’m dealing with a design company that, for whatever reason, decided to give us an entire graphics branding package with on-air elements seperated as matte/fills instead of a QTs with alpha channels. One of the Avid editors working with the elements we got asked me if I had had any issues with the fills being hot (she was importing them as 601 – RGB seemed to be ok) and when doing a little research I noticed that the design company is delivering all fills using Sorenson 3 based QT’s. I’m FCP based so I am not sure.

My question is, has anybody ever heard of using Sorenson 3 for a broadcast network HD delivery from a major design company? Can Sorenson handle the color depth we want? I really can’t believe it – but maybe I’m being a baby about the whole thing….

Thanks David – we figured it out. I was looking at a reference video and not the real thing. Doh!

I recently did some work for a very large and well known insurance company, these dubs went to several states and they delivered them to us as H.264 files.

    I’ve even had .wmv used.

the Youtube generation doesn’t care about quality apparently.
