I’m wondering if anyone is using (or has used) an isolation cabinet for their G5. I’m looking for some options, and so far I’ve only found Acoustilock cabinets.

Can anyone recommend a manufacuter? Or has anyone made one that has sufficient cooling capabilities?

    Thanks,

I got one of these for my SAN.

It cuts out the high frequency noise, the mids & lows are still there. Maybe if you had something with a baffle & chamber, like a car sub woofer box, where the output of the box has to go around something before it leaves the box. That would help on the noise.

Yes, it cuts down on the cooling. It’s 10 degrees warmer inside. But, I have 24 sata drives spinning in there. A G5 shouldn’t produce as much heat. This box is kind of big though, 24x26x36. Rack rails are 12 spaces and probably best suited for rack mounted equipment. Decks & other gear can be mounted inside.
