Since the day of getting the HVX I have noticed ever so slight, narrow still (best I can described it ) rainbow like lines running up and down my footage- its the same pattern as bars on a jail cell. I tried to get an example though a frame grab but it did not translate. Has anyone had this problem. Its only noticeable if you really look for it unless the color of the scene is just right.

    Shooting tape, 24p DV

The image I attached is an example of where the lines would(ish) be if you could see them in the screen grab.

I can only imagine that you are seeing a side effect of compression. After all, DVCProHD (are we talking about this format or are you using DV?) is an excellent, but still heavily compressed codec.

When and where are you seeing this and on what monitor?

I see them on all footage- Direct from the HVX to my production monitor or on the LCD of my Sony Dv Deck or DV deck to monitor.

What I am trying to get at is, those lines are recorded to tape? If so, it’s time to take that into your local service center. What if you record to p2?

I think you shuld have a service tech look at it. Be sure to send a tape with the problem recorded on it. You could even narrate over it and tell them what to look for.
