I am trying to create a vertical stack of ridged boxes which has a swaying (even self-correcting) movement. The objects should slide against each other the x and z but not rotate and intersect each other. Currently trying bones and getting the movement I want but this just deforms my overall stack. Perhaps I am going about this the wrong way…any suggestions?

    Thanks.

Hard to know without more info. Do you have an example file you could post?

Is it supposed to have true dynamics? Meaning will it be a stack of boxes on a moving or shaking platform and needs to animate itself? Or is it a specific animation that can be done procederially?
