    Hi,

This is my first post, I’m an old aged 2 year amateur at this stuff & love it. I have Vegas Pro11 Build 701 64bit & over the past year have learnt a lot & trying to learn a lot more. Using AVCHD & creating 1440×1080 Video has not been a problem (crashes have been minimal). However a recent project using 129 slides all with motion & with a few transitions, a lot of cross fades & cuts caused Vegas Pro11 to crash during the render. Annoyingly it crashed at different points each time I tried.

The slides all matched output aspect set at 1920×1080 ( because of begin & end video footage used with Titler Pro). The render was MPEG2 HDV720 25p. I managed to get the job done by doing the 129 slides in Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 10 rendered to HDV720 25p & bringing that into Vegas Pro to go with the Titler footage.

Would like to know why it crashed as I have a few hundred slides to do.

What do you mean by ‘slides’? Are you using pictures and just doing pans and fades? That shouldn’t be too taxing. What are your system specs?

    Hi Alex

    PC Specs
    Windows 7 Professional 64Bit
    Processor Intel i7-2600@3.4GHZ overclocked
    8GB RAM
    16GB USB RAM Turbocharge
    2 x 1 Terabyte SATA Hard Drives
    1 500GB SATA Hard Drive
    AMD Radeon HD7850 Graphics Card

Re ‘Slides’ That is what a lot of photos from the 50’s 60’s 70’s were. Hence the name Slide Show.
I scanned them to load onto the PC as jpeg images. Vegas Movie Studio 10 would not have been able to Render them if there was anything too taxing. Its limitations were why I purchased Vegas Pro 11.
In Vegas Pro other projects that were mainly video with still images included, rendering has not been a problem.

I have just tried a different unfinished project ‘Rendered loop region only’ that included 60 still images. The render stopped at 10%. When stoppages occur Vegas Pro will not close unless I force it by shutting down the computer.

There is most likely a simple answer!

You shouldn’t be having any problems with just still images. Are you doing anything crazy like trying to render at 1,000fps, or having every picture on it’s own video track? Did you try it without the USB ram, or turning GPU rendering assist off?

    Hi Alex

The problem is fixed. I had to reinstall Vegas a couple of months ago due to a PC problem & forgot to reset Dynamic Ram Preview. Set at 4GB & with GPU acceleration turned off it rendered perfectly.

    Thanks for the help.
