Are you looking for something small, like 24″, or a lot bigger?

Something larger without getting burdensome. With the microdolly, I have the full on dolly, but I’m looking for something that would be smaller, and that might also handle say, an EX-3. But if you have some tabletop type slider recommendations, I’d be interested in those as well. Thanks!

I have one of the Glidetrack units out of England – and I like it a lot. It’s a LOT cheaper at a couple of hundred bucks. It works great within it’s limitations. (Don’t mount a Betacam, it’s designed for a DSLR dangit!)

I do agree that you should only use it at it’s full lengh with a couple of “outrigger” stands. No matter WHICH unit, even the expensive ones, will develop some “shimmy” if supported only in the middle.

I keep mine in a light stand soft case with a couple of small Bogen “Stacker stands” which work great for stabilizing the ends of the track – and I can get smooth moves across the whole width of the unit.

Thanks Bill. I’ve looked at the Glidetracks, at least virtually, and they do seem well engineered. What size unit are you using?

I have the indieslider. Simple – works great. Used it in a spot for TLC last month as well as a spot for Lowes in the spring. It’s solid.
