I’ve got a c4d model of a whale I purchased (fromt Turbosquid) for a project, and it’s fully rigged and ready to go. When I open the file up and select the whale slider controls for the bones appear in the HUD. They work fine, and are very convenient. The problem is, when I import the whale model into my project the controls are not visible and I cant’ figure out what to do to make them visible. I imagine these sliders are done with Xpresso, and there is a control object inside the whale with six Xpresso expressions on it. I’ve never used anything like this before, so I don’t know what I need to do to get these sliders to be available. Anyone have any ideas?

    thanks,

I don’t think HUD properties carry over when you copy an object and paste it into another scene, or if you merge a file with HUD properties into an open scene. But … you should be able to merge your non-whale scene into the whale scene without losing the HUD properties.

Ah, go the other way. That’s a good idea; I hadnt’ thought of doing that. I’ll give it a try. But is there a way to set the HUD properties if I copy the whale into a scene? I’ve looked at the HUD section of the manual, and it didnt’ seem to help me much. It seems to me that if you can set it up in the original whale file, you should be able to set it up in another file with the same model, but I can’t figure out how.

Meanwhile, I’ll try your suggestion. Thanks, Adam.
