Ok, so I tried the next part of the tutorial where it tells you to “scrub the angle control” and I can’t find angle control anywhere! What the f!?!? Why is everything so much different with this new version???

nm… im stupid. I just figured out that the effects im looking for are in the Null Object layer and not the image layer… duh. This is a cool tutorial, but I’m really not learning much since everything is set up for you already and all you do it play with the values. I still dont understand what a null object is or how you set up these expressions.

The Slider and Angle controls are applied as effects (Effects > Expression Controls).

A null/layer object is just an invisible layer that might be used as a parent layer, or a repository for expressions where you want to “publish” the results for use by other layers, or just to mark a particular spot in the composition.

That doesn’t sound like a tutorial so much as an example project file that would be downloaded after viewing a tutorial. If you’re not comfortable learning by playing around with things/figuring things out for yourself you should probably view the tutorials first.

If something is too advanced for you, figure out what you’re having trouble understanding and find a more basic tutorial that goes into that. Or ask more specific questions here.
