  • Slaving time code from one KiPro to another

I need to double record a show on a pair of KiPro recorders and would like matching rime code on each file. I’ve tried to set one KiPro as a “master” machine using internal time code and then set the second machine as a “slave” machine and taking time code from the first machine into the second machine and setting the time code source to external. I can’t seem to get the second machine to lock to the first machine. Is there a special trick? Seems that it should be pretty straightforward.

The Ki Pro LTC output does not provide output during EE or recording operations; the output is only for use during playback, as might be used for dubbing content to another device with matching timecode. For timecode to multiple Ki Pro units, the use of a timecode generator and a timecode distribution amplifier is recommended.

This information can be found in the Ki Pro operation manual under the “LTC Timecode Input And Output” section. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact AJA Technical Support via phone or email for assistance.
