    Hello,

I am trying to replace a blown out sky shot on a Panasonic DVX-100A. There are tree branches blowing in front of it and a poorly-done dolly shot, with actors heads crossing over it. It’s all the worst possible things mixed in one shot. Reshooting is out of the question unfortunately.

I have AE 6.5, and I’m a nearly competent user.

I saw the Andrew Kramer tutorial, which was good, but he had a nice blue (easily keyed out) sky, where I’m dealing with a white blown out nightmare (with a few patches of blue), tree branches, actors, etc.

My question is–is this even possible? I have tried stabilizing the shot, and tracking various parts of it, but the fake sky still jiggles around and the matte isn’t all that beautiful either–especially around the tree branches.

I know this is a hard shot to invision without seeing it, but my main question is: does anyone know of a tutorial about sky replacement that goes more in depth than the Andrew Kramer one? If not, is anyone interested in doing one? I think this is a question a lot of us newbies have.

Thanks in advance for any comments–This site is awesome!

    Mike
