Skip the menu intro
Hi
I’ve created a menu with a video background that has a loop point which creates a small intro from the first part of the video. This looks great the first time it starts, but sometimes I would like to skip the small intro (e.g. when returning from a submenu) ..
Is this possible (e.g. by linking directly to the loop point of the menu), and if so – what do I do to make this work?

You can’t skip right into the loop point when you link to the menu.
To work around this, set your intro up as a timeline or a different menu, and have the end action link to your menu. There may be a small delay when the end action happens (depends on your player; you’ll see it clearly in Encore’s preview mode), but it’s the only way to do what you’re asking.

There’s one other way to do it. Make two versions of the menu – one with the intro and one that just starts at the loop point. Then link your various assets to the appropriate one. It does mean having to have a second copy of the menu on the disc, but it shouldn’t take up too much space.
