hey, I’m hoping someone can help me find a solution to a seemly simple desire. I’ve searched and seen tons of posts of people complaining about flicker and trying to remove flicker, but I want to add flicker to my image sequence.

I’m looking to create a flipbook/old film style look with the image sequence dropping frames and leaving the space instead of shortening the clip. does this make sense?

any suggestions or direction to point me in for a solution would be great.

    thanks

Try the ‘strobe light’ filter, which is standard in AE. The parameters are all fairly self explanatory. Depending on the exact effect you are trying to achieve, you may want to add the ‘posterize time’ filter as well.
