am looking to do a slightly enhanced cell shader look. how would i go about having clean cell type outlines, but varying the weight of them and avoiding the sketch and toon flicker.

is there a brush or place to determine this, simple outlines/ line work

check out this new work for kind of what im talking about. if anyone has any idea on how to have c4d behave more along these lines. I’ve seen some cool toon work out there done on c4d.

Tim clapham has a nice toon character render on his site, with this type of clean line

this is just kind of what i always imagined/hoped i could do with c4d and some sick design

Tim posted a few tricks on mograph net, so tryy to search there. A common technique is to render the lines at double the resolution and then scale down. This will not completely eliminate all flicker, but due to the resampling when scaling down, a lot of it will disappear. You can also try to creaete “lines” using incidence based gradients with the Fresnel shader. Simply turn off interpolation in the shaders gradient.
