I had that problem trying to use the cinema 4d flash export setting with leaf particles. The issue is that each leaf is a polygon — with an alpha channel texture. For some reason anything vector based out of cinema 4d does not recognize the alpha texture for an alpha — let me clarify. Cinema will only create an alpha of polygons…not of the textures.
You can trace them (the leaves) in illustrator, and import the splines into c4d, and then create a leaf polygon — then add the texture. Or even trace it in cinema 4d itself. Swap out the old leaf with the new leaf, badda bing.

December 13, 2005 at 11:33 pmI’ve had this problem too. I got around it by doing a separate alpha pass with S&T turned off. Then you can alpha matte the result in AE, shake, fcp etc.
good luck,
simon
