size of quick time file for iDVd
what is the largest size quicktime file can I make to fit on an I DVD movie? What Should I consider when I export as a Quicktime file to IDVD?

If memory serves, I think the iDVD limit is a time contraint, not a size limit. You’d be better off asking this question in the iDVD forum at http://www.creativecalf.net, since there’s no real iDVD forum here. I’m thinking that the time limit for iDVD is up to 2 hours now, but I could be wrong. Therefore, if your QT movie is 2 hourss or less you can just drag it into the iDVD window. Either nothing will happen, which means iDVD has accepted the file, or you’ll get a dialogue come up and tell you the file is too big.
Remember too, that the longer your movie runtime is, the lower the final picture quality you’ll get, because iDVD will compress it more to fit on the disc.

That’s correct. The size of the Quicktime Movie doesn’t matter, it’s the time length which I think is constrainted to 90 minutes. iDVD will automatically make the MPEG-2 / Audio file for you based on the Time Length and Quality setting in iDVD.
