For some reason my single blade tool in final cut pro 7 is not working. I press “b” (once) and the icon shows up as a single blade but, when I trim the clip it acts like a double blade and trims both the clip and the audio. I don’t know if this is because my Final Cut Pro is messed up or if its something I can simply fix. Please help me solve this problem and thanks in advance for any advice.

You have to unlink the audio and video first by clicking on the icon on the upper right that looks like little chain.

You can also hold down the option key while you use any tool. This enables you to select any clip/item that is otherwise linked without un-linking it. And it stays linked after you deselect.
