May 21, 2007 at 12:08 pmThere is no need for one. RED 4.1 has been extensively tested in pre-release beta versions of Final Cut 6. All issues previusly exsiting in Final Cut 5 have been fixed by Apple. Transitions are working again!!! Any many workarounds are no longer necessary. Enjoy.
P. S. Same goes for Graffiti 5.1, FX 9.1 and BCC 4.1 I’d like to publicly thank Apple engineers for doing a good job this time.

May 21, 2007 at 2:38 pmThanks, but I’m confussed. I received the following from Peter awhile back….
“You will need BCC 5 FxPlug for FCP 6, which should be available with the next few weeks. On the RED side you will need to have RED 4.1.4, which will be a free upgrade / patch for any RED 4 user. We’ll make both of these products available post the FCP 6 release just to be sure that the version that goes into the hands of the user community is working as well as the version that we test with in our labs.”

May 21, 2007 at 2:49 pmIf using an Intel Mac, will we need to reinstall since Red didn’t install the transitions?

May 21, 2007 at 2:53 pmBCC 5 FXPlug is the new product that we have announces at NAB and plan to ship in the near future. Note that it will be a separate product incompatible with Adobe applications.
BCC 4.1 for AE is the currently shipping version and is fully compatible with FCP 6 based on the inhouse testing that we have done so far. There has not been a lot of field testing because FCP 6 is so new.
In his earlier communication Peter could not foresee the outcome of our testing with a yet to be released host application. So he warned that there may be a need for a patch. Currently we do not have any issues that would require us to patch our products.

May 21, 2007 at 2:59 pmOK, I stand corrected. We will be posting a RED 4.1.4 installer sometime today to put transitions back. The previous installer did not include transitions because they were broken in FCP5. Yes, you will have to re-install RED.

May 21, 2007 at 3:06 pmThank you for the update. Any recommended steps for this upgrade? Install FCP Studio 2 first then update Red to 4.1.4? Any reason to have to do a fresh install with Red?

May 21, 2007 at 3:18 pmYes, that sounds reasonable. First update Final Cut then RED plugin.

May 21, 2007 at 5:19 pmHave you all found any issues with this new FCP 6 upgrade that you can warn us about with Red? Any possible problem with the keyframe presets like when we went from Red 3 to 4?
