I have a quick question about the Vegas effects. I’m sure there is a way to do this but I can’t seem to pull it off with any good degree…maybe there is a plug-in involved. What I’m trying to do is pull off the “Sin City” effect and have the film I’m editing be in B&W and just have one color come through. I know it’s a fairly complicated process that they did for the film but I was wondering if Vegas itself could pull that look off. I’m trying to just have RED come through and no other color. I’m readying this Wedding Video for my girlfriends brother and I thought that it would be a cool effect since the Bridesmaids are all wearing Red Dresses and the red roses all stand out in comparison to the rest of the wedding being all black and white. Any ideas guys and girl? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Yours…

Place the video on the timeline. The video must be added three times on three separate tracks. Make sure they are aligned perfectly.

This mask is what will allow the color to show. To pick the

To show 1 color in a black+white video

    Apply the Secondary Color Corrector.
Use the select effect range eyedropper to select the color you want to keep.
    Click Invert Mask.
Drag the Saturation control all the way down.

And another newsletter shows how to pass an area – like the Pleasantville effect. You can find all the newsletters here.
