  simulating waves in after effects of trapcode particular

  I need to add waves in a project rendered in Vue 5. I am trying to animate waves hitting the shoreline. They are off at a distance. I am trying to use trapcode particular but am having no luck. I can set things up in a straight line and warp it with a distortion filter but when I move it towards the shoreline it is not very convincing.

  Is there a way to set up particles in Particular to follow the curvature of a wave?

  I tried painting whitecaps in After Effects and warping them but I had no luck.

  Is there a tutorial out there that can help?
