simulating a projection on a wall
hello all … i’m trying to find a tutorial that will teach me to simulate a projection on a wall, preferably with motion tracking. an example of what i want to emulate is in this template:
i’ve searched high and low, and i guess my problem is: i don’t know what the technique is called. i assume it’s ‘mapping’ of some kind, but google keeps pointing me to camera mapping … when i search for projection, etc … google points me to actual projects suitable for projecting video.
any ideas ? help would be appreciated. (and i’m assuming this is an after effects task; if it requires any plugins, please advise.. tanks again.

It sounds as if you need to use AE’s Advanced Camera Tracker – it’s not very hard to wrap your head around, and this tutorial from Adobe TV will give you a good start:
