    Hi,

i want to do a 2D motion graphic of texts and objects collapsing to the bottom of the screen.

so, i’m looking for an expression to make objects fall down/get pulled by gravity and react/collide to each other (like physics simulation in 3D software)

    Anyone can help?

    thanks

Maybe a job for Newton, by MotionBoutique?

    Hi, thanks for the respond.

yeah, i’m considering Newton. but is there any way i could do it without using 3rd party plug-in?

In theory you could do it with expressions, but because expressions have no memeory, at every frame, the expressions would have to start at time zero and run through all the collisions, up to the current frame. It might work for a few layers, but even then things are eventually going to bog down.

You might be better off writing a physics engine as a script (which can keep track of variables) which would create the animation as keyframes. Big job though.

Hi Dan! (And sorry for the slightly off topic) I’m working on a 3D After Effects project where i need to trigger a precomp (Let’s say a glow/burst of light FX) in the same place and time that a 3D layer (avatar/bubble) pass through a big 3D layer and disappears. I know Particular allows that, but i’m already using it and want to make it this sequence as light for the system as possible. Is there an Expression/Script/Plugin for that?

I hope you’re well and thanks.
