So I’m trying convert a flat HDR, 8000×4000, to a spherical HDR for use in 3d programs as a skybox (. I could have SWORN I found a simple solution to doing this in the past, but maybe I’m crazy? Like I thought it was as simple as creating a “Spherical Camera” or something to that effect, but now I’m not seeing a simple solution. Or maybe adding an effect to the layer?

I also tried putting a VR convertor effect on it, with input 2d source, output: Equirectangular 2:1 because that’s the format I’m targeting, but unless I change the Output frame width, it seems to do nothing. (Although if I change to say 7900 as output frame width, it looks like it’s starting to make it spherical).

Anyone know what the easiest way to do this is or if I dreamt this easy way up?
