Simple Video Trimmer for Compressed Video?
I have some footage that I need to trim down and split. Some of the files are 20 minutes long and I might only need a minute or 2 of footage from them. I’d like to be able to extract the footage I want and then delete the older bigger files to save disk space. The catch is that the video is already compressed, and I don’t want to have to re-compress it and lose quality. I know I could just load them into Vegas and render them completely uncompressed, but that would create even bigger files in terms of size and would defeat the point. The CODEC on the footage is Sony Motion JPEG, as an AVI file. Is there any tool out there that could do this?

VirtualDub is perfect for lossless AVI trimming (what you need). For other formats look at SolveigMM Video Splitter, AVS Video Remaker etc.
