Simple question: lens distortion with green screen compositing
I’m recording some green screen shots with a wide angle lens. From what I’ve read it’s recommended that you should shoot a GS scene exactly how you want the final shot to be composed, just with a different background. This make sense to me, because the lens distortion will affect actors as they move within the frame.
However, this way of shooting involves a lot of tracking, and isn’t super efficient. For some of these wide shots I’d love to be able to just shoot the scene on a tripod, slightly upscale it, place it in the digital environment, then do some subtle camera pans in after effects.
Basically, what are the best practices for dealing with lens distortion on GS footage when compositing digital environments? Thanks for reading.
