I am currently cutting a show for TV all my other work has been on the web so I never had to deal with this before. The network wants me to deliver the cut NTSC drop frame but the first segment needs to be 7:00;00. My timeline will not let me edit to the frame it jumps after 6:59;29 to 7:00;02, I guess my question is how can I be frame accurate and also edit in drop frame? Sorry if this is a stupid question but again I haven’t had much experience with tight standards.

OK…you really need someone in that production who understands post production deliverables. Or you need to hire a consultant who can explain things to you, including the workflow.

This is for free…this will be the only thing you get from me for free.

Drop Frame timecode is called drop frame because it drops frame NUMBERS occasionally. It drops 00 and 01 every minute except for every 10th minute. So what you see is right. ALSO…when they say that your first segement or “act” to be 7:00;00;00, that means AT LEAST 7 min…not under.

Now really…get someone who knows network deliverable requirements before you get in way to deep and require lots of expensive fixes.
