Yes exactly – either option click or by clicking on the add keyframe button in the inspector window makes the key frame jump. If I stop the playhead and manually move one frame back it works perfectly. Weird.

    Hey Tom,

What is the video format you are working with?

Just 1080p prores 422HQ – admittedly it’s a large library, and although each source clip can be up to 40 mins long, the selection in the project window is usually less than 3 minutes per clip.

A clip in X is just a metadata extraction. It’s not a “real” standalone thing that resides someplace as a discrete item in your finder.

That said, I’ve seen the same behavior – but not for a couple of years.

It’s a real thing – and I have seen it – but it’s not how the program typically works – and the good news, is that it’s not something you’ll face constantly in X editing.

I’d try the usual resets: preferences, reset the P-ram, etc.

This type of stuff is super frustrating.

If you DO track down what’s causing it before it stops happening – PLEASE share the solution here.

And definitely send Apple a bug report – it won’t be the first, but the more who do – the more attention the issue will have.

Intermittent, situational bugs like this are a bear for any software team to exterminate.
