Simple effect — But i can’t figure it out
Hey guys long time reader, first time poster. So i’m in desperate need of figuring out this effect for a music video I’m working on, i believe was done in After Effects. It’s almost like a partial freeze frame that continues to move with the clip, you can see a sample at 16 seconds in the video i linked to below.. It should also be shown in the picture.. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You are correct- freeze frame, rectangular masks, layer animation on the x axis- a lot has to do with timing on the music…. that’s about it.
