  • Simple DVD Burning?

Posted by Steve Price on April 11, 2008 at 2:27 pm

I’ve just stepped up to FCP from Premiere Pro – I’m loving it so far, especially the multicamera facility, but I’m a bit disappointed to find there’s no facility to burn a DVD direct from the time line.

In Premiere Pro I can output my timeline directly to disc in just a couple of clicks – this is really handy for making viewing copies of rough cuts for my clients – no menus, no chapter points, just the programme – am I missing something quite obvious here?

Any advice will be gratefully received.

    Thanks,

    Steve.

    Hi Steve,

I haven’t used this function in Adobe, but it sounds convenient.

The easiest way to create a DVD (i think) would be to export a QuickTime movie (by reference -not self contained) then drop that file into iDVD. Probably the least steps.

There’s no way to directly export to a DVD through FCP. Usually you’d; export to compressor and then create a DVD in DVDSP.

    Good Luck,

Export a QuickTime Movie (reference is fine)

    Import into DVDSP

    Add to Timeline

Right Click on Timeline in Project BRowser on Track 1 and set first play

    Click Burn…

    Addd DVD

    Wait
